What happens with a Brexit deal

  • Positive impacts on UK businesses selling into EU
  • Compliance procedures in line with the deal

HMRC have now issued letters to 145,000 UK VAT registered businesses. These businesses only trade with EU countries and it advises them of the impact of a no deal Brexit.

The letter goes on to explain the immediate changes to customs, excise and VAT procedures for UK businesses. This only applies only to businesses that are currently importing and exporting goods within the EU. There will be a requirement to start completing customs declarations from March 2019.

The letter explains it is officially confirmed that the UK will be leaving the EU at 11pm (United Kingdom time) on the 29th of March 2019.
